Pirates at Uncommon Thread

From June 24th to 26th, I co-organized the group show at the ARC (the artist live/work building where I live in Vancouver at Commercial and Powell) ... see posts of the show in a bit ...

Anyway, during the Open Studios on the Saturday and Sunday, I held "Pirate Portrait Shoots" between 3 and 5. People came and dressed as pirates and opened their moths and said 'AARGH!'

Here are some of the results!

Pet Portraits

Hi

Just to let you all know, I love photographing doggies! This spring, I offered promotional dog portrait shoots at "Karen Moe Fine Art Portraits" in Vancouver BC. Each dog exhibited their unique personalities and were very cooperative in the studio. Of course, one always needs the collaboration with the dog owners during the shoot!

Isaac is a nobel Colley. I love the texture of his fur and the strong lines in his face. Even though Isaac has such wonderful colour, the black and white image shows the texture and markings of his luxurious and voluminous fur ... and look at how his fur fills the frame!

Chocolate was so full of energy when she arrived that I didn't know if we were going to be able to calm her down enough to get shots. But Leigh, her owner, has a fabulous relationship with her dog and was able to calm her (along with many rewards of dog cookies!) and we were able to get some very distinctive shots of her that show off her particular exuberant personality. The jumping out of the frame one especially!

I am always looking forward to photographing more doggies!
